OneSpring Releases Rapid Prototyping Kit for the Apple iPad

March 31, 2010 -- OneSpring (http://www.onespring.net/)®, the world's first Requirements Agency™, today announced the immediate availability of an updated version of

the world's only visualization templates for Apple-branded mobile devices, including the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. OneSpring has pioneered combining the best practices in business analysis, user experience and visualization to provide a highly effective way to define software projects from mainframes to web sites to mobile application.

The iPhone & iPad SimDK™ for iRise (http://www.irise.com/) gives business analysts and user experience professionals a way to quickly prototype the look, feel and behavior of iPad applications, including screen transitions, typing, sliding, etc., before any code is written. This approach clarifies requirements, saves time during product ideation, and speeds up delivery of applications.

First created in 2008 to support the OneSpring Mobile Applications Definition Services, the iPhone & iPad SimDK for iRise has been used to help define a wide range of native iPhone apps for OneSpring clients in many industries, including finance, automotive, medical, employment and education. The toolkit provides comprehensive support for the design of custom mobile applications on the iRise enterprise visualization platform that empowers developers and stakeholders to see, interact with, and fully experience applications before any development.

"The iPhone & iPad SimDK for iRise was built using visual elements and artifacts directly from Apple's SDK", said Robert Grashuis, Chief Visualization Officer for OneSpring. "This enables business analysts and user experience designers who do not typically have access to Apple's SDK to visualize mobile applications early in the process."

One Call Now Is First Message Notification Service To Release iPhone App:

TROY, OHIO (Vocus) March 31, 2010 -- One Call Now, a leading provider of automated messaging and emergency notification services, is releasing an application this week designed to give their customers the ability to record and distribute automated group messages directly from their Apple® iPhone™.

The application, or “app” as they are commonly known, is designed to give the user a fast and easy way to distribute a recorded message to a group. Users can record their own voice message, or enter text that is converted to speech prior to distribution. Upon approving their message, the user can then send it to their entire membership group or any of the Subgroups that constitute the whole. Delivery data is made available through the reporting component of the application, providing details in a concise format. In addition, all recorded messages are saved for future reuse.

Both established clients and new customers can use the application; use requires a free trial or paid subscription calling plan, available online at www.onecallnow.com or by calling 877-698-3262. Users can also use the One Call Now App on the iPod™ Touch, which requires a Wi-Fi connection and microphone. Both primary account holders (Group Leaders) and those they designate as “Messengers” can record and send messages.

`“Our tens of thousands of clients obviously use our technology to communicate; and many have told us they are early adopters of the latest technology,” says CEO Leib Lurie. “That’s why we are pleased to be the first notification firm in the industry to allow clients to use an iPhone to initiate and send messages in an easy, intuitive and simple way with our FREE iPhone app. Using the iPhone microphone to record a message, or its keyboard to send a text-to-speech message, allows anyone to launch a notification blast to ten or ten thousand people in seconds.”

SR Education Group Announces Launch of New $2000 Community College Scholarship

(PRWEB) March 23, 2010 -- SR Education Group has released a new needs-based scholarship aimed at community college students. The scholarship amounts to $2,000, and will be awarded in full every four months, benefiting three students

each year. Most scholarships target college students rather than community college students, so this scholarship will allow the company to help individuals who are rarely sought out as financial aid recipients.

The SR Education Group Community College Scholarship, which is now accepting applications, is open to all full-time students enrolled in an accredited community college through the 2010 school year. The application process involves completing two thought-provoking essay questions, and finalists will be selected based on the compelling, persuasive quality of their writing. Finalists must also submit a copy of their FAFSA to ensure that they meet the needs-based criterion of the scholarship.

Lindsay Toraason, the scholarship coordinator, explains the rationale of the application process. “The scholarship follows a very open-ended and personal format, so that I can gain a more complete understanding of the student, and award our scholarship to a person who would really benefit from the additional funds.”

Community colleges are for many Americans the most feasible way to continue an education past high school. SR Education Group, an online provider of higher education information, is serious about helping students find and fund great educational opportunities, and this community college scholarship is a further way to help. “Any student, regardless of his/her major, is eligible to apply,” says Toraason. “I have tried to make this scholarship available to as many students as possible because I know that college tuition can be a barrier for people who want to pursue an education.”

Further details about the scholarship and the application forms can be found at http://www.guidetoonlineschools.com/scholarships/community-college-scholarship. The deadline for applications is 05/22/2010 at 10 a.m. PT, and the winner will be announced – and featured on the website – approximately two weeks after that.

SR Education Group released its first scholarship last year, which is awarded, in full, every three months. This is a merit-based study-abroad scholarship amounting to $2,000, and is open to all college students enrolled in study-abroad programs. The application process aims to reward students for their creativity and analytical thinking, with open-ended questions such as “There are currently seven wonders of the world. Nominate an eighth wonder and explain why you chose it.” The winner of the 2009-2010 award is featured on the website at http://www.guidetoonlineschools.com/scholarships/study-abroad-scholarship.

In addition to offering these two scholarships, SR Education Group is working to build web content and raise funds and awareness for the non-profit Seattle Education Access , which provides higher education advocacy and opportunities for people struggling with poverty and adversity in the Seattle area. SR Education Group shares their belief that education is empowering, and that it should be a transparent and viable option, available to as many students as possible.
