Engineering
Degrees Account for 8 of the Top 10 Best Paying Bachelor’s
Degrees
Emagister.net has shown an increase in searches for Engineering
Degrees due to a recently released top paying degrees survey. The
survey published
|
(PRWEB) March 28, 2010 -- Engineering degrees may not be the
most sought after degrees or may not appear on the most popular
degree lists specifically for lesser known professions such as petroleum
engineers, but times are changing and the economic crisis is influencing
education as well. The recent survey has drawn interest from readers
as evidenced by the rise in students who have taken to the web in
search of Engineering degrees such as Computer Engineering Degrees
on educational directories such as Emagister.net
In NACE's Winter 2010 Salary Survey, engineering disciplines account
for eight of the 10 bachelor's degrees that could prove most valuable
to graduates entering the job market. There are many variables that
go into determining starting salaries however it appears that the
most influential factor driving up starting salaries to 1.5 times
the normal rate is the low number of students holding these degrees
or set to graduate with engineering titles. Competition in the job
market is driving up earning potential for those holding bachelor’s
degrees in fields such as Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering
and Computer Engineering. Schools such as ECPI College of Technology,
RETS College and Walden University offer degrees in engineering
that can be completed on campus, online or a combination of both
in order to respond to the demands for programs in these fields
not only from beginning students but from working adults looking
for a career change and salary boost.
