MyNetDiary
Releases Powerful, Easy and Elegant Diet App for iPad
The latest offering by MyNetDiary in weight loss software and services
hit the iPad App Store’s “cyber shelves” and is
proving a powerful tool for diet planning, management, and food
and exercise tracking.
|
| “The MyNetDiary app for iPad fully leverages
the iPad’s unique capabilities,” says Sergey Oreshko,
CEO of 4Technologies Corporation. “It is at once a simple,
elegant and incredibly easy solution for keeping a food diary while
helping people lose weight in the most natural way – by making
better food choices and eating better.”
Featured on NPR’s Morning Edition and the USA TODAY Weight-Loss
Challenge, MyNetDiary gives users an edge in their weight loss battles
because, according to a study in The American Journal of Preventative
Medicine, people who keep a daily food diary lose more than twice
as much weight as those who do not record their food intake.
“The MyNetDiary iPad app is a one-stop diet solution,”
adds Oreshko. “You don’t need diet pills, silly fads
and dust-laden libraries of diet books to lose weight – you
simply eat better. And our iPad app makes eating better much, much
easier.”
The iPad’s large touchscreen coupled with MyNetDiary's unique
search-as-you-type data entry is perfect for quick entry of foods
and exercise - taking only a few taps. The iPad app automatically
syncs to a member’s online account and those who also use
MyNetDiary’s website, or existing iPhone or BlackBerry apps
don’t have to worry about entering foods multiple times. Enter
once and it is done.
Tens of thousands of people have already reached their diet goals
naturally by using MyNetDiary and making better daily food choices.

One Doctor’s
Cure for Childhood Obesity, Bringing About a Revolution in the Way
Families Eat
Dr. Marta Katalenas, a renowned Round Rock, Texas, pediatrician,
has launched a local crusade called “The Prescription for
Healthy, Happy
|
Children–From Scratch,”
to help families solve childhood obesity, weight and health issues
at home. Her effort dovetails with that of the Let’s Move!
campaign started by the First Lady Michelle Obama to resolve a U.S.
health crisis affecting children nationwide.
According to First Lady Michelle Obama, childhood obesity rates
in the U.S. have tripled over the past three decades. For the first
time in history, American children may face a shorter lifespan than
their parents because obesity can lead to many preventable diseases
such as diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer and
asthma. Dr. Katalenas, founder of the Pediatric Center of Round
Rock (http://www.pediatriccenterofroundrock.com), has seen an increase
in these medical problems for her young patients and has answered
the call of the First Lady to help in her campaign. She is taking
her own crusade of educating parents out of her practice--right
into the community of Round Rock, Austin and surrounding metropolitan
areas.
Childhood overweight issues and obesity are serious health problems
facing families today and many parents feel overwhelmed. They share
with Dr. Katalenas their frustration about conflicting or partial
information and the fact that they don’t know how to prepare
healthy food. “For as long as we have been aware of the obesity
epidemic in our country, we have been told what not to eat,”
said Dr. Katalenas. “Different experts throughout the years
have given advice about calorie counting, about reducing the fat
content of the diet and about what we should avoid,” says
Dr. Katalenas.
She feels that our fast-paced society created quick meals and snacking
on-the-go of high calorie, low nutrient foods which leads her to
a solution present in what we already know. Having grown up in Spain,
the doctor has incorporated what has been shown to be successful
from her European culture in her “prescription” solution
for a cure of the epidemic. A recent study of over 20,000 people
of Mediterranean origin concluded a lower incidence of cardiovascular
disease and obesity, and increased longevity. The study could not
pinpoint a single ingredient in the diet as responsible for the
beneficial effects of the diet. “It is because there is no
single ingredient, but a life-style and eating habits combination
that is possible to learn and reproduce in our society,” said
the doctor. “They don’t do it because they know better;
it is their culture to enjoy home-cooked meals with their family.”

Major Medical
Study Shows Plant-Based Protein the Key to Weight Loss
Every year it seems a new diet fad makes headlines – Scarsdale,
Atkins, South Beach and Zone diets to
|
| name a few. While they may work for
some people, it can be hard to keep the weight off. One thing experts
know for sure is that protein (http://www.LivingFuel.com) plays
an important role in both healthy eating and weight loss . Research
shared in The New England Journal of Medicine shows that people
who fill up specifically on plant protein versus animal protein
can lose substantially more weight than those who do not.
In addition, researchers with the journal Nutritional Reviews found
that the average body weight for both male and female vegetarians
is three to 20 percent lower than that of meat eaters.
First for Women magazine recently examined firsthand the powerful
role complete plant protein from brown rice and yellow pea plays
in detoxification (http://www.LivingFuel.com), weight loss and weight
management. Magazine editors interviewed several women with weight
struggles who were ready to do an “ultra fat flush”
involving this type of protein. For two weeks, women drank a plant-protein
smoothie for breakfast and lunch. They followed that with lean protein
and unlimited steamed green veggies and salad for dinner. As reported,
women successfully lost belly fat, shed baby weight and overcame
certain metabolic issues.
Protein is vital to good health, but not all protein is created
equally. While protein from brown rice and yellow pea has a higher
pH and is thought to be easier to digest than protein from animal
sources, simply mixing two or more plant sources does not yield
an ideal amino acids profile. LivingFuel LivingProtein (http://www.livingfuel.com)
is the only plant protein that takes the next step of optimizing
the blend with specific vegetarian amino acids.
Magazine staff also taste tested several of these popular plant
protein powders. They narrowed down the field to three and selected
LivingProtein as a top protein source, writing that “Tasters
loved the smooth, earthy powder. And it has probiotics for gut health
and immunity.”
LivingProtein (http://www.livingfuel.com/Living-Protein.aspx) is
the only protein tested that is rich in antioxidants with a Total
ORACfn value of 18,900 per serving, providing broad-spectrum protection
against free radicals and reactive oxygen species that attack the
human body. Each serving of LivingProtein contains 21 grams of Organic
Brown Rice Protein and Non-GMO Yellow Pea Protein combined with
specific vegetarian amino acids to give it an amino acids profile
similar to egg but from plant sources. LivingProtein is rich in
protein, fiber (six grams of soluble fiber per serving), prebiotics
and microencapsulated probiotics. It is the most complete and unrivaled
product in its category.
